Community Worship Service

Everyone is invited to a night of congregational and Southern Gospel singing on September 12 th at 6:00 PM at the historical Hartselle Camp Meeting Tabernacle. We invite all congregations to join us in the evening of community worship. In addition to the singing of many favorite hymns, the service will include special music by Geoff Halbrooks and the Fellowship Quartet, Jaylynn and Trina Milligan, AD and Sherry Halbrooks, Glenn Wood, the Wards, and others. The singing kicks off Depot Days week in Hartselle, and the event is hosted by the Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce. Join us for a wonderful evening of music and worship.

Down Memory Lane

In celebration of their 100 Year Anniversary last year, The Hartselle Church of Christ will host this year’s Down Memory Lane event. The church, affectionately referred to as “A Light on a Hill,” began meeting in 1920 after a month-long tent meeting on a vacant lot across from the L & N Railroad Depot. Until a building was erected, the Church met in the Morrison House on Hammitt Street. In 1944 a decision was made to relocate the Church building to a lot on the new U. S. Highway. A building fund was established and in 1947 the Church began meeting at its present location on High School Street, later renamed Sparkman Street in honor of U. S. Senator John Sparkman. Through the years from 1947 to present day, several additions and renovations have been made to this original building. The visible footprint of this original building can still be seen today. The two major renovations were the additions of expanded auditoriums in 1972 and 2007.

As part of the 2021 Hartselle Depot Days Down Memory Lane, there will be several items of historical significance to the Hartselle Church of Christ on display. Beginning at 6:00 p.m., the building will be open for members of the community to come in and view the displays and the 100-year timeline of the history of the congregation. At 6:30 p.m. there will be a short video presentation in the auditorium. Refreshments will be provided at the conclusion of the evening in the Church’s fellowship hall.

Please join us on September 14, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. as we celebrate the Hartselle Church of Christ being a part of Hartselle’s history for over 100 years.
